Genealogy Roadshow on PBS

Look for it! “Genealogy Roadshow” is scheduled to debut at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, on PBS.

Family Tree

HBO
May 12, 2013 10:30 p.m.
Premise: A ‘mockumentary’ about the main character’s search for his family history. From HBO: “Tom starts investigating his lineage and uncovers a whole world of unusual stories and characters, acquiring a growing sense of who he and his real family are.”

Genealogy Roadshow

PBS
Fall 2013
Premise: The show will be reuniting families, answering questions about the their past, their family history and their lineage.

Starting in San Francisco, there’s an open casting call (closing on 5/12/2013) looking for people in the Austin, Nashville, and Detroit areas that would like to be on the show.

NOTE: While searching PBS.org for more detail on the show (didn’t find any) I did find a brief Genealogy How To video from their History Detectives show along with a page of suggestions and tips showing you how to successfully investigate your family history.

I’m glad to see that these two genealogy shows are returning:
